Bicycle Messengers
Bicycle messengers are key to communication in the Lower East Side. Each messenger rides the bicycle that she or he dreamed of as a child, you know, with the bell on the handlebars and the cool paint job and all the chrome.
Here are a few interesting facts about bicycle messengers:
- This is the most common method of communication in the Lower East Side
- Although very chatty, they never deliver the message verbally. It is always a note or a package
- They are almost always very attractive women. (Teddy wonders if the ones who deliver to women are like the men on the covers of romance novels.)
Although we use a lot of acronyms here, we don't call them BMs for obvious reasons.
